What is Product Schema?
Product schema (schema.org/Product) is structured data that tells Google exactly what a product is, how much it costs, whether it is in stock, and what buyers think of it. When properly implemented, it enables rich results that show price, availability, star ratings, and review counts directly in the search snippet — dramatically improving click-through rates for e-commerce pages.
Google's product rich results appear in regular search, Google Shopping, and image search. They are particularly valuable for competitive product categories where a star rating and price in the SERP can mean the difference between a click and a scroll. For AI-powered shopping assistants, product schema is essential — it is the primary signal used to populate product carousels and comparison tables.
Key properties to include: name, description, brand, sku, offers (with price, priceCurrency, availability), and aggregateRating (with ratingValue and reviewCount). This generator creates all of these from your product description. Review the output before deploying — pricing information must match what appears on the page or Google may penalise the markup.
After generating your schema, test it in Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator. Ensure the page is indexed before expecting rich results to appear — schema on a noindex page has no effect.
