    Accessibility pass: landmarks, headings, contrast, labels

    Fixed a sitewide nested <main> landmark bug, restored a missing heading level on the homepage, darkened low-contrast text and brand colors to meet WCAG AA, added missing labels to icon-only buttons, and fixed the cookie banner overflowing on narrow phones.

    Privacy claims are now a live measurement, not a promise

    "Your privacy matters" boxes and hardcoded "0 bytes" labels are gone. Tool pages now show a real, live count of bytes sent over the network since you opened the page — built by watching fetch, XHR, and sendBeacon directly, the same thing you could check yourself in your browser’s dev tools.

    Added a real 404 page and /llms.txt

    Broken links used to hit a bare, unbranded 404. There’s now a proper one with a way back to the site. Also added /llms.txt, a plain-text index for AI agents and crawlers, generated straight from the tool registry.

    Fixed duplicated "InstantTools" in page titles

    A template bug was appending the site name twice on most tool pages — e.g. "PDF Compressor — InstantTools | InstantTools" in browser tabs and search results. Titles across the site are back to normal.

    Every tool count on the site is now live, not hand-typed

    Homepage stats, footer counts, category pages — all of it now reads straight from the tool registry, so it can never drift out of sync again.

    Three AI writing tools turned off pending a fix

    AI Content Rewriter, AI Blog Title Generator, and AI Product Description Generator were producing unreliable output in testing — including leaked prompt text and, in one case, a hallucinated foreign-language word. All three are off until they pass our own bar. Nothing you submitted to them was ever stored.

    Image Compressor keeps your format and dimensions

    Compressing a PNG used to hand you back a WebP at a different size without asking. It now keeps your original format and dimensions unless you explicitly opt into WebP conversion or resizing.

    EXIF Remover: byte-for-byte lossless on JPG and PNG

    Metadata removal used to re-encode the whole image, which meant a quality hit you didn’t ask for. It now strips GPS, camera, and other metadata by editing the file’s own JPEG/PNG structure directly — the pixels never get touched. A GPS hemisphere bug that could report the wrong sign for southern and western coordinates is also fixed.

    PDF Compressor: text stays selectable by default

    Compression could quietly rasterize a page’s text into an image, breaking search and copy-paste in the output. A new Text-safe mode is now the default — it recompresses embedded images and strips metadata but leaves your fonts and text alone. Scan mode is still there for when you want the smallest possible file.
