Lexicon

The Scholarly Atelier, after hours.

Lexicon is a warm library at night: worn leather spines, a gold-leaf glow, the snap of a lettered tile. Three word tools in one room. The Alchemist turns a pile of letters into every word they spell. The Scholar takes one word apart. The Voyager is a letter puzzle on a circular dial. Made for anyone who plays word games or likes to check their work.

Word puzzles & solvers

Lexicon has two word solvers and one puzzle. The Word Unscrambler turns a rack of letters into every word they spell. The Scrabble Score & Syllable Counter takes a single word and gives you its tile score, syllables, letter counts, and anagrams. The Center Letter Word Puzzle is a game: seven letters on a dial, and every word has to use the one in the middle.

All three share one list of about 270,000 English words built for word games. Your browser downloads it the first time you open a Lexicon tool, and the matching runs on your device. The letters you type are not sent anywhere. It is not an official tournament dictionary like NASPA or Collins, so a word it accepts can still be challenged in your game.

Players use the unscrambler to check a rack before they commit, puzzle fans use it on newspaper jumbles, and teachers use the word analyzer for syllable and spelling lessons. For longer text, the utilities below count words, change case, generate placeholder text, and convert Markdown.

Which tool to open

  • Word Unscrambler Pick it when you have up to 12 letters and want every word they spell, longest first, with tile scores. Tick Use all letters for anagrams only.
  • Scrabble Score & Syllable Counter Pick it to check one word or short phrase: face-value Scrabble score, estimated syllables, vowel and consonant counts, and a palindrome test.
  • Center Letter Word Puzzle Pick it for a word game with no daily limit. Every set has at least one common word that uses all seven letters.

Is using a word unscrambler cheating?

During a real game, yes, unless everyone at the table agrees to it. It is fair game for practice, for reviewing a game after it ends, and for solo puzzles like newspaper jumbles. The tool shows words and tile values, not board positions, so it can’t tell you the best play on a real board.

Does the unscrambler handle blank tiles?

No. A ? or * is ignored like any other symbol. To test a blank, add a likely letter, such as E, then S, then R, and compare the lists.

How accurate is the syllable count?

It is an estimate from spelling. It counts groups of vowels, treats Y as a vowel, and drops a silent final E. That gets most words right but misses some: POEM reads as 1 syllable instead of 2, and so does TABLE. If you are counting meter for a poem, clap out any word that looks off.

Is there a daily puzzle?

No. The Center Letter Word Puzzle has 40 letter sets served in a fixed order. New puzzle moves to the next set right away, and Reveal solution shows the full answer list. Progress isn’t saved, so a reload starts you at the first set.
