Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function properly, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use a site, and deliver relevant advertising. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how InstantTools uses them, what types we set, and how you can manage your choices.
In addition to traditional cookies, we and our partners may use closely related technologies such as local storage, session storage, web beacons, pixel tags, and fingerprinting identifiers. Unless otherwise noted, references to “cookies” in this policy include these similar technologies.
2. Why We Use Cookies
InstantTools is designed around a privacy-first architecture. Your files are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers. However, we still rely on a small set of cookies to make the site work, remember your preferences (such as light vs. dark mode), measure aggregate traffic, and fund the service through advertising.
We group the cookies we set into four categories: strictly necessary, functional, analytics, and advertising. Each is described in more detail below.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. All non-essential cookie categories default to denied until you make a choice. You can change your selection at any time via the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer.
3.1 Strictly Necessary
These cookies are required for the site to function and are always active. They store your theme preference (theme), your consent decision (it_consent_v2), and an anonymous session identifier used only within your browser tab. Because the site will not work properly without them, they cannot be turned off from our interface. You can still block them from your browser settings, but some features may break.
3.2 Functional
Functional cookies remember choices you make on the site, such as your preferred theme, recently used tools, or dismissed tips. They make your experience more personal but are not strictly required. If you clear them, the site will simply fall back to default behavior.
3.3 Analytics
Analytics cookies are only activated when you grant analytics_storage consent. When active, anonymized page views and tool usage events (such as page_view, tool_view, and vitals.*) are sent to our own first-party /api/e beacon endpoint. We do not use third-party analytics platforms for this data, and no event is linked to personal information. When you reject analytics, no beacon fires at all.
3.4 Advertising
InstantTools is free to use. To keep it that way, we display ads served by Google AdSense. Advertising cookies are only activated when you grant ad_storage consent. When granted, AdSense may set cookies to measure ad performance and limit ad frequency. If you additionally grant ad_personalization, ads may be tailored to your interests based on cross-site activity. When you reject advertising consent, AdSense serves non-personalized ads only and does not set measurement cookies. You can learn more about how Google uses ad-related data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and adjust personalization at Google My Ad Center.
4. How to Manage Cookies
You can update your consent choices at any time by clicking “Cookie Preferences” in the site footer. Your preference is stored in your browser’s localStorage under the key it_consent_v2 and will be respected on every subsequent visit.
Most browsers also let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings menu. The exact steps depend on the browser you use; links for the most common ones are listed below.
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising across participating companies at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU). Blocking all cookies may cause parts of InstantTools or embedded ads to stop working, but will not prevent you from using the core tools.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our cookies, new regulatory guidance, or feedback from our users. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes will also be highlighted on the site so you have a chance to review them.
