How to use Compass Weather Radar

  1. Open Compass Weather and switch to the Radar tab in the sidebar.
  2. The map centers on your active city. Pan and zoom with mouse, trackpad, or pinch.
  3. Press Play to animate the last two hours of precipitation. Scrub the timeline manually to step through frames.
  4. Toggle the cloud layer or precipitation layer independently — useful when cloud cover is dense but nothing is actually falling.

02 · The honest pitch

Why Compass Weather Radar?

Most public radars bury you in weather-channel chrome or lock the good layers behind a login. Compass Weather Radar uses RainViewer’s free public tiles on our own dark editorial map, with nothing between you and the weather. The 10-minute tile refresh matches the industry standard for public precipitation data.
